Coral is Lady Danbury's maid.
History[]
Royal Wedding[]
When the Danburys unexpectedly received an invitation to King George's wedding, Coral told Mrs. Danbury that she believed that's why her husband was so excited. She said the Bassets had received one as well. Coral had already called the modiste to alter one of her gowns.[1]
Union of Society[]
As the frequency of the Danburys' marital relations increased, Coral was kept busy preparing baths for Lady Danbury. Lord Danbury was upset because the white members of the ton still refused to include him in things. Coral reported that the same thing had happened to other families on their side.
When Lady Danbury was summoned to meet with Princess Augusta, Coral helps prepare her for the meeting.[2]
First Ball[]
Lady Danbury told Coral she was planning to host the first ball of the year. Coral was surprised and asked if the dowager princess had approved. Lady Danbury said she hadn't, which was why she needed to send out invitations before Princess Augusta.
On the night of the ball, Coral told Lady Danbury everything was ready except for Lady Danbury to get dressed.
The day after the ball, Lady Danbury told Coral that Lord Danbury had died. They quietly celebrated together and then Lady Danbury went back into the room and cried out dramatically, putting on a show for the other servants. Coral had them send for a doctor and Lord Danbury's valet. Then she said she would go in to the room to make sure Lady Danbury was decent, keeping everyone else out of the room.[3]
Mourning[]
Coral tended to Lady Danbury as she mourned the loss of her husband in unconventional ways. Coral informed Lady Danbury that she had visitors. She tried to refuse as she was still in mourning, but agreed when she learned it was several of the newly-titled families. This prompted Lady Danbury to contact her late husband's solicitor, with Coral's help. Coral watched as Lady Danbury started taking daily walks, getting happier with each one.[4]
When the walks continued, Coral advised Lady Danbury that her cloak would make a nice blanket if she decided to have solitude on the ground. She then asked if Lord Ledger was kind and Lady Danbury said he was joyful.
With her worry over her son's title and estate increasing, Coral advised Lady Danbury to give Princess Augusta some of the information she wanted. Lady Danbury said she couldn't do that because she promised Queen Charlotte friendship. Coral said she could also ask the queen to intervene, but Lady Danbury said she couldn't trouble the queen with that.
Later, Lady Danbury said she'd solved her problem because Duke Adolphus wanted to court her. Coral shooed everyone else away so he could do that. Coral was excited for Lady Danbury to court and marry Duke Adolphus, but Lady Danbury was less enthused and ultimately decided not to marry him.[5]
