John is a footman for the Bridgerton family.
History[]
Footman John stood in the background during the duke's dinner with the Bridgertons. John also announced Nigel Berbrooke as he called on Daphne.[1]
During a party, Eloise went outside and bribed Footman John to take her somewhere. While Eloise waited inside a carriage, John warned her that they needed to return to the party, but Eloise wanted to wait a little longer. A few moments later, a carriage showed up. Believing that Lady Whistledown was inside, Eloise got up and John opened the carriage door for her. John stood there and watched as Eloise warned Lady Whistledown of the trap and spoke to the Bow Street Runner.[2]
John brought Eloise to the printing press so that she could find Lady Whistledown. After he let Eloise out of the carriage, he tried to warn her about the city being unsafe for a lady like herself, and even offered to return her money. However, Eloise handed him more money and told him to keep an eye out. He watched as Eloise spoke to Theo Sharpe, and smirked when she made fun of Theo.[3]
John went to Eloise's room to bring a package for her. She wasn't in the mood for it, but he insisted on giving it to her. The package was from Theo Sharpe and contained a book with a note inside.[4]
John announced the arrival of a caller. The Bridgertons, who were expecting a visit from Lord Samadani, told him to bring the caller in. Instead of Lord Samadani, it was John Stirling. Footman John returned soon after to announce another caller and this time, it was Lord Samadani.[5]
