Notes and Trivia[]

  • Golda originally auditioned for the part of Lady Danbury.[1]
  • If Golda were not an actor, she would like to be an athlete.[2] From an early age, she wanted to compete in the decathlon at the Olympics. She represented her country in hockey, netball and swimming. She broke records for her four-by-four relay, javelin and long-jumping. At the age of 16, an ankle injury forced her to quit sports and she moved onto acting.[3]
  • Twice, Golda has needed a medic to help her get out of a costume. After wearing a corset for a whole day to film a scene at a ball, sweat caused the corset to stick to her, which became tighter and tighter, preventing her from moving.[2][4]
  • It takes two hours for Golda to put on her two wigs to portray Queen Charlotte.[4]
  • Golda knew from a young age that she was gay. She came out to her parents in her twenties.[3]
  • Golda is bi-racial, with a Guyanese father and English mother. When portraying Queen Charlotte, she taps into her mother's side of her heritage.[5] [6]
  • Golda is a singer and comes from a musical family. Her parents used to play instruments and sing, and her brother is a producer. Her parents met singing in a choir in Barbados.[6]
