Harry Dankworth is the husband of Prudence Dankworth.

History[]

Between the 1814 and 1815 seasons, Harry married Prudence Featherington.[1]

When Harry arrived at a ball with Albion and Penelope, but without Philippa and Prudence, Portia asked them where their wives were. Harry said he'd lost Prudence. Later that night, under pressure from her mother, Prudence had sex with Harry in pursuit of producing an heir, even though she said she didn't enjoy it.[2]

Harry and Prudence went with the rest of the family to the hot air balloon debut. There, he and Prudence hid behind a tent and began kissing. When she noticed someone looking at them, she pushed Harry off her, causing him to trip on one of the ropes holding the hot air balloon down, releasing it. Colin and Benedict and some other men were able to grab the ropes and pull the hot air balloon back, avoiding catastrophe.[3]

When Philippa became pregnant before Prudence, Harry said that might be for the best as children took so much time and drained one's beauty. She asked if he thought they should just give up. Her chest was tender and she rubbed herself there, drawing the attention of Philippa, who believed Prudence was mocking her for her pregnancy-related breast pain. Portia had told her it was a clear pregnancy sign, which Prudence didn't know.[4]

One morning, Harry read the newest Lady Whistledown, which reported that Colin and Penelope were engaged, shocking Portia, Prudence, and Philippa.[5]

As Portia started to plan Penelope and Colin's wedding, Harry tried to comfort Prudence, who was jealous of Penelope getting the attention as well as getting more elaborate things than Prudence had had for her own wedding.[6]

Harry noticed a change in Prudence's behavior toward him as her pregnancy progressed, saying she no longer swatted his hands away so aggressively when he reached for her.[7]

Prudence and Philippa decided to throw a ball, which Harry and Albion supported. Since they were unable to afford a lot, they worried that what Mrs. Varley put together wouldn't have all the things they wanted. But when the two couples entered, they were delighted to see everything they'd asked for. They thanked Portia, believing she must have paid for everything.

The queen came to the ball and prompted Penelope to address the crowd and identify herself as Lady Whistledown. After her speech, couples started to dance, including Harry and Prudence.

Later, Prudence gave birth to their first child, a girl.[8]

Romantic[]

Harry and Prudence met in the countryside during the off-season. They were married sometime before the Featheringtons returned to London for the 1815 season.[1] Since Prudence married below her social status and Harry married above his, Prudence feels she holds more power in the relationship.[9] They seem to be very much attracted to one another, with Harry doting on her. They even once tried to have sexual intercourse during the hot air balloon launch, to conceive a son to become the next Lord Featherington.[3] They ended up having a daughter.[8]
