History[]
1813 Social Season[]
Hyacinth was excited for the start of the new social season, especially since it was Daphne's debut. She happily accompanied her family to the palace so Daphne could be presented in front of the queen and took interest in Daphne's courting.[1]
Hyacinth was present and very delighted when her mother received a letter from the queen inviting her to a private tea.[2]
While their family discussed Daphne's social prospects, Hyacinth and Gregory played together on the sitting room floor.[3]
When Daphne came home after meeting with the queen and Prince Friedrich, Hyacinth accosted her, asking if she was going to marry the prince, making Hyacinth the sister of a princess. Daphne brushed off her attentions and left the room.
After another event, Daphne told Hyacinth that the prince was there. Hyacinth then went to talk to Eloise, who was writing in her journal. Hyacinth asked what she was writing and Eloise told her she was writing to Francesca about what a busybody Hyacinth is.[4]
When Daphne became engaged, Hyacinth asked her questions about what it was like to be in love. When Prince Friedrich came to speak to Daphne about her engagement, Hyacinth eavesdropped on their conversation and said she hoped Simon's proposal had been half as romantic.
When Daphne and Simon were granted a special license to marry immediately, Hyacinth attended the wedding with her family. At the reception, she and Gregory played. As Daphne prepared to leave for her new home, Hyacinth expressed desire to go with her and live in a castle. Colin and Benedict quickly told her that none of them would be going until Daphne allowed it. The whole family then saw Daphne and Simon off.[5]
Hyacinth asked her mother what Daphne was doing at her new home. Her mother told her Daphne had new duties as a duchess to attend to. Satisfied, she went to play with Gregory.
After Colin got engaged to Marina, Hyacinth delightedly noted that it was mentioned in the papers before being shushed.[6]
In the wake of the revelation that Marina was pregnant, her engagement to Colin was abruptly called off. In order to save face, Daphne returned to town with Simon and they attended the queen's luncheon with the rest of the family to show their support. Their mother was especially pleased to have her family together again.[7]
While spending time with her siblings, Hyacinth asked Anthony if she'd be able to join the fun at Aubrey Hall that summer. He was distracted by the newspaper, but when she snapped him out of it, he said she could, which delighted her. When Francesca returned to London and the family was spending time together, including Simon and Daphne, Hyacinth asked when she could visit Clyvedon. Simon assured her she was welcome anytime. She then asked him if he had an extra horse she could have. He asked if a pony was okay and fashioned one for her out of paper.
Hyacinth and the rest of her siblings then went to see Colin off as he prepared to go traveling. Gregory asked him to bring back a gift. Hyacinth said it wasn't a gift if you had to ask, but requested something blue or white herself.[8]
1814 Social Season[]
At the start of the 1814 social season, Hyacinth along with her siblings and mother, waited outside Eloise's room as she prepared for her social debut. As she emerged from her room, she warned her family not to say anything. When Eloise returned from her debut, which was interrupted by the arrival of a new Lady Whistledown, she practiced dancing with Gregory. Hyacinth watched and commented that Eloise wasn't a good dancer.[9]
Colin's Return[]
When Colin returned from his travels, his siblings happily welcomed him home. Hyacinth told him she was two inches taller than Gregory, a claim Gregory denied.[10]
Daphne's Return and Visit to Aubrey Hall[]
When Daphne returned, she brought Augie. Hyacinth, along with Francesca and Violet, fawned over him. She then went along with the rest of her family to Aubrey Hall.[11]
Anthony and Edwina's Wedding[]
When discussing Anthony and Edwina's wedding, Gregory asked if Edwina would come live with them. Violet said she would after the wedding. Hyacinth then asked if Kate would come live with them as well.[12]
Hyacinth then attended the wedding with her family, but Edwina called the wedding off when she realized that Anthony and Kate had feelings for each other.[13]
Harmony Ball[]
In the aftermath of Anthony and Edwina's aborted wedding, Violet and Anthony agreed that the family needed to present a united front, which led to them all promenading together. On this walk, they were shunned by the rest of the ton, so Violet and Lady Danbury planned a ball to show there was no ill will between the two families. When no one showed up at the ball, Anthony called Hyacinth and Gregory down to join them and the two families all danced together.[14]
Kate's Accident[]
After Kate was thrown from her horse, Violet sent flowers. When Hyacinth questioned her sending more flowers, Violet said there was nothing worse than rotting flowers when someone was unwell.[15]
1815 Season[]
Hyacinth was eager for the start of the 1815 season, which marked Francesca's debut. As they had done with Eloise the year prior, Hyacinth and her family waited outside Francesca's room with their ears pressed to her door, listening for her. However, they eventually discovered that Francesca wasn't in her room at all, but was playing pianoforte.
After the debuts, the family returned home, where newly-returned Colin gave his family the gifts he'd purchased for them. Hyacinth got a vial of perfume from Paris.[16]
Hyacinth was intrigued by the suitors Lady Danbury suggested as possible matches for Francesca and longed to debut herself.
Later, Hyacinth ended up in a card game with Gregory, Benedict, and Colin, though Colin left in the middle of a hand.[17]
Hot Air Balloon[]
Hyacinth was delighted by Francesca earning the queen's favor and asked which of her many potential suitors she'd dance with first. Later, Hyacinth went with her family the hot air balloon debut, where she corrected Gregory when he said he wanted to be a balloonist, telling him that the correct term was aeronaut.[18]
Francesca's Callers[]
Hyacinth waited with her family for Francesca's callers. They were expecting Lord Samadani, so when a man arrived, Hyacinth assumed that was him and welcomed him, only to find out it was John Stirling instead.[19]
Colin and Penelope's Engagement and Wedding[]
Hyacinth was pleased when Colin announced that he and Penelope Featherington were engaged. She was delighted to welcome Penelope as another sister. Later, at Colin and Penelope's betrothal party, she and Gregory played with Nicky Mondrich.[20]
Later, Hyacinth was fighting with Gregory and Benedict over macarons when Francesca drew their attention to herself and announced that she and John were getting married, news the family celebrated.[21]
Hyacinth attended Colin and Penelope's wedding. At the following wedding breakfast, the queen shocked everyone by coming and dismissing everyone except the Bridgertons. Then she said she knew one of them was Lady Whistledown and demanded she reveal herself. When Anthony insisted that he would know if something like that were happening in his house and would have put a stop to it, the queen backed off, but promised she'd figure it out soon.[22]
John and Francesca's Wedding[]
Hyacinth attended John and Francesca's wedding with her family and then saw the newlyweds off as they set off to move to Scotland, to John's family's home.
Months later, Hyacinth brought in several issues of Lady Whistledown, now being written under Penelope's own name.[23]

Wise beyond her years, Hyacinth is both singular and exuberant. The youngest Bridgerton sibling, she can't wait to follow in her sisters' footsteps and take part in the marriage mart.
