Lady Malhotra is the mother of Sita Malhotra.
History[]
Lady Malhotra escorted her daughter during her debut. Unfortunately, Sita, along with all the other debutantes, failed to impress the queen.[1]
When Lord Debling declared his intent to find a wife, Lady Livingston and the other mamas evaluated him. Lady Malhotra thought he might be the pick of the season, while Lady Livingston found his fixation on nature and animals untoward.[2]
When an issue of Lady Whistledown wasn't released on a scheduled day, Lady Barragan told Lady Malhotra that she believed it was because the queen had discovered her identity. It later came out that Cressida Cowper was claiming to be Lady Whistledown.
At the Mondrich ball, Cressida showed up uninvited. Lady Barragan asked if they should take their girls and go, but Lady Malhotra said she wanted to see what would happen. They all watched as the queen summoned Cressida, who had footmen deliver a note indicating that Lady Whistledown would soon return with a full column.[3]
Lady Malhotra attended the Dankworth-Finch Ball, where Penelope Bridgerton shocked everyone by revealing that she was Lady Whistledown and also pleaded for their forgiveness, promising to aim her quill more responsibly. Once she was finished, the queen said she appeared humbled, leading the way for the ton to forgive her.[4]
