Lord Hawkins is an invention enthusiast who debuted his hot air balloon to the ton.
History[]
Lord Hawkins held a party at which he intended to debut his hot air balloon. He gave a presentation on the technology in a tent. While most of the ton was dubious, believing ships to be more efficient transportation, Tilley Arnold said that his ingenuity would drive progress forward, for which Hawkins thanked her.
Later, after the balloon was accidentally released from its anchors, forcing several men to grab the ropes to keep the balloon's basket from hitting Penelope Featherington, Hawkins climbed into the basket and told them to let go, beginning his flight.
That evening, Hawkins and his wife hosted an Innovations Ball at their home. He attempted to show Portia Featherington a lamp, but she brushed him off.
