Lord Lumley came to call on Edwina, wanting to get to know her better with the hopes of matching up with her. Other suitors were waiting and became upset because he was with Edwina for a long time.
Later, Lumley and Edwina walked together and talked about their shared love of literature.
Lord Lumley came to the races with Edwina Sharma. After hearing Anthony's comments about the ladies needing refreshments, he left his seat to get drinks and Anthony immediately took his place next to Edwina. When he returned, he sat on Edwina's other side.
A party was thrown so Edwina could get to know all her suitors better. This party quickly became a display of talents. Lumley recited a poem to a rapt audience, including Edwina.[1]
