History[]
Childhood[]
When Lady Lucinda (Lucy) was a child, her father passed away and both she and her brother, Richard Abernathy, were sent to be under guidance of her uncle, Robert Abernathy, and her aunt, Harriet Abernathy. From a young age, she was practically engaged to Lord Haselby.

Gregory Bridgerton[]
When Lucy first met Gregory, they were attached to others; Lucy was promised in marriage to another man, and Gregory was head over heels in love with her best friend, Hermione. Lucy thought Gregory was a much better prospect for Hermione than the man she already loved, so she agreed to help Gregory win her heart. But in the process, the two ended up falling in love, although Lucy agreed to marry her fiancé to save her family from ruin, since her uncle Robert claimed they had evidence of her father being a Napoleon spy. But Gregory was undeterred, and, although he failed to stop the wedding, he managed to prove that it was Robert, not Lucy’s father, who was the spy, before she consummated the union. Lucy and her husband received an annulment, and she and Gregory were married and had nine children together.
Familial[]
Katharine Bridgerton[]
According to Gregory, Katharine is just like her mother. She adores Lucy and named her youngest sister, Eloise Lucy, after her mom, claiming, "Mama is the very best of mothers."
Friendships[]
Hyacinth St. Clair[]
Lucy and Hyacinth are good friends and sisters-in-law. They've had their ups and downs, but the two became steady friends after Lucy married Hyacinth's brother. Lucy and Gregory even named their youngest daughter after Hyacinth.
