Debut and Interview With Anthony[]
Mary Ann was presented to the queen. During Anthony's interviews with debutantes, Mary Ann told Anthony that she's fluent in French, Italian, and Latin. He asked if she speaks Greek.[1]
Bridgertons' Ball[]
Later, At the Bridgertons' ball, Mary Ann told the other debutantes that her mother had fixed on Sir Derryworth for her. Mary Ann did not like him and described him as an old man with excruciating breath.[2]
Four Seasons Ball[]
Mary Ann attended Lady Danbury's Four Seasons ball, where she talked to a group of other ladies about embroidery, a shared hobby.[3]
At a later ball, Mary Ann ended up in conversation with Eloise, who believed she had no talent. After hearing Eloise speak, Mary Ann agreed with the other ladies that she was an entertaining speaker. She was disappointed later when the queen left without seeing more debutantes.[4]
