Philippa Berbrooke (née Featherington) is the sister of Penelope Bridgerton.
History[]
1813[]
Philippa is in her second season with older sister Prudence, while Penelope is entering her first. Their mother, Portia, introduces them to Simon Basset at Lady Danbury's ball, telling him that Philippa is an expert watercolorist. Lady Danbury then comes by and pushes Portia and her daughters away from Simon.
1814[]
In her third season, Lady Whistledown reported that Philippa was seen listening to the chatter of Nigel Berbrooke, a nobleman known to not be very bright.
1817[]
During the season, Lady Whistledown writes that Nigel Berbrooke attended a dinner at the Featherington household, and was paying a lot of attention to Philippa. By the end of the year, Philippa is married to Nigel.
1824[]
Philippa and Nigel were both at the Featherington house when Penelope returned with Colin Bridgerton. When Colin requests a moment alone with Portia and Penelope, Philippa convinced Nigel to join her and they left the room together.
Personality[]
Philippa, like Prudence, blindly followed her mother's lead, and is not considered intelligent, pretty, or even elegant. They were also dressed by Portia in colors that did not suit them, but they followed their mother's advice that "happy" colors make a girl seem happy and attract men.
Relationships[]
Romantic[]
Nigel Berbrooke[]
Philippa started showing interest in Nigel Berbrooke in her third year, when she listened to him speak at the Bridgerton musicale while no one else did. They married two years later, and were determined by Colin to be well-suited because they complemented each other's simple-minded and borderline clueless personalities.
