Phoebe Dynevor plays Daphne Basset in Bridgerton.
Biography[]
Dynevor was born the first of three children to screenwriter Tim Dynevor and actress Sally Dynevor. She attended Oakfield Nursery School in Altrincham, and then Cheadle Hulme School in Stockport, where she gained notoriety while working as a child actress alongside her studies.
The first acting role Dynevor received was when she was fourteen years old in Waterloo Road as Siobhan Mailey. She made appearances in several British Dramas such as Monroe and The Musketeers in the following years, though she did not begin acting in American Television until nearly seven years later. In 2016, she debuted in Snatch and Younger.
In 2019, it was announced that Dynevor would portray Daphne Bridgerton from the first novel, The Duke and I, and main interest of Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset. She reprised her role in the second season and continued to verbally support the return of her character in subsequent additions.
In 2021, Dynevor made her debut in film as the ceramicist Clarice Cliff in The Colour Room with further projects on her itinerary including that of being an executive producer in the film adaptation of the Jonathan Stroud novel The Outlaws Scarlett and Browne.
In January 2023, Dynevor confirmed she would not be returning in season three, but could reprise her role in the future.[1]
