Baby Race[]
After the death of her only legitimate grandchild and therefore the only heir, Queen Charlotte gathered her children and told them they needed to stop playing and produce another heir.[2]
As the need to produce an heir intensified, Queen Charlotte again gathered her children and asked how it was possible that none of them had managed to find respectable marriages. She rejected Adolphus's chosen match as the woman he wanted to marry was an actress. Prince Edward suggested it might be too late to produce an heir as all their sisters were past childbearing age, but Queen Charlotte refused to accept that.[3]
