- The series was officially renewed for season three and four on April 13, 2021.[12]
- Jess Brownell was announced as the showrunner for seasons three and four on May 14, 2021.[13]
- The season will cover the love story of Benedict Bridgerton, which is the subject of the third Bridgerton book, An Offer From a Gentleman. This was announced July 23, 2024, simultaneously confirming Luke Thompson to be reprising his role for this season.[1]
- It was officially announced that Yerin Ha would be playing the lead role of Sophie Baek on September 11, 2024[8], however the casting was leaked by Variety on August 16, 2024.[14]
- Filming began on September 16, 2024, with Katie Leung, Michelle Mao and Isabella Wei announced as Lady Araminta Gun, Rosamund Li and Posy Li. Along with that, Victor Alli, Adjoa Andoh, Julie Andrews, Lorraine Ashbourne, Jonathan Bailey, Nicola Coughlan, Hannah Dodd, Daniel Francis, Ruth Gemmell, Florence Hunt, Martins Imhangbe, Claudia Jessie, Luke Newton, Golda Rosheuvel, Will Tilston, and Polly Walker were confirmed to be reprising their roles. Masali Baduza, Emma Naomi, and Hugh Sachs were also confirmed to be reprising their roles, as well as being upped to series regulars.[3]
- In an interview with Glamour UK on October 2, 2024, Simone Ashley revealed she would be returning for the next season.[4] This was officially confirmed by showrunner Jess Brownell at the Season of Love event on February 14, 2025.[5]
- On January 16, 2025, The Direct revealed that Bridgerton executives have "not called [Phoebe Dynevor] yet" in regards to returning for Season 4.[15]
- On January 21, 2025, a behind-the-scenes video was released on official Bridgerton accounts on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. In this video, actress Gracie McGonigal was revealed to have joined the cast, as well as Olli Higginson reprising his role as Footman John.[9]
- In addition to Simone’s official return, the Season of Love event also confirmed the return of Geraldine Alexander and Sophie Lamont, the latter’s character now being named Celia. Gracie McGonigal’s new character was also confirmed to be named Hazel.[5]
- Simone mentioned in an interview while they filmed this season, Jonathan Bailey was also working on the second part of Wicked but has not told anyone on the show what the film is like or any plot points.[source?]
