Sita Malhotra is one of the debutantes in 1815.
History[]
Lady Whistledown reported she was said to be quite a catch. However, when she debuted for the queen, she, along with all the other debutantes, failed to impress her.
After the lackluster debut, Sita chatted with some other debutantes about what they wanted in their husbands. Sita said she dreamed of a man who wrote poetry, but above all, wanted someone who gave her butterflies.[1]
Sita was at the modiste with Anne Hartigan when Eloise Bridgerton called them over and told them the queen was still looking for a debutante to catch her eye.
Later, at a ball, Sita was part of a group of ladies who began discussing Eloise's talent. Eloise didn't believe she had any, but they told her she was an excellent speaker.
Sita then took part in spreading a rumor that Colin Bridgerton was helping Penelope Featherington find a husband, a scandal.[2]
Sita attended the hot air balloon debut. After watching Colin pull on the ropes to stop the untethered hot air balloon from hitting Penelope Featherington, Sita and other ladies declared him a hero and applauded his actions.[3]
After Lady Whistledown's column failed to appear, Sita discussed with Miss Kenworthy and Miss Barragan as to why she hadn't published. She later expressed shock when she was told that Cressida Cowper is Lady Whistledown.[4]
Sita attended the Dankworth-Finch Ball, where Penelope shocked everyone by revealing that she was Lady Whistledown and also pleaded for their forgiveness, promising to aim her quill more responsibly. Once she was finished, the queen said she appeared humbled, leading the way for the ton to forgive her.[5]
