Lady Vivian Ledger is the mother of Violet Bridgerton.

History[]

New Queen[]

On Coronation Day for Queen Charlotte, Vivian told her husband that she accepted the new queen and would serve on her court, but she didn't think the rest of that side of society should be socializing with the ton. Violet pointed out that the new members of the ton had received their land and titles from the king, just as everyone else had, including their own family. Vivian tried to say that it wasn't the same, but Violet said it was. They were all well-educated and from good families. Some of them were even better than them because they'd come from royal families in other countries. Vivian ordered Violet to stop talking and questioned what her governess had been teaching her.

When Vivian learned that the Danburys were planning to throw the first ball of the season, she was horrified and declared that they wouldn't be going. However, when they received a personal note from the king, they decided they couldn't miss it.[1]

Royal Ball[]

The Ledgers were invited to a ball thrown by the king and queen to introduce the new prince. They decided that Violet would attend the ball with them, though Vivian regretted it when she believed Violet was embarrassing them by looking around for the queen. Lord Ledger disagreed and said that Violet was perfect.[2]
